Restored Wonders Never Cease

This has got to be one of the most beautiful, clever and practical ideas for antique furniture: turning a wood-workers workbench into a kitchen island.

I love the worn, beaten surface.

And the creative uses for holding paper towels, measuring cups, storing kettles and whatnot. Of course, at my house kitty would render them full of pet hair... But the idea is swell and could be modified for non-food prep items.

I love how their grand kids play on the table too.

A real usable, family friendly piece.
