Viva La Rhinestones!

I adore this vintage bolero and belt in pink, adorned with rhinestones and pearls amidst all the swirls...

OMG We're Going To Fashion Hell

Ask my husband; every time the commercial for the Pajama Jean comes on television, I rant for five minutes. Yes, he timed me once, just to prove his point that I should be over it by now. But I'm not.

How can I be, when such things not only continue to exist but proliferate?

Exhibits B and C: "Junderpants" for men and women.

These things are neither day wear nor play wear; they fall into a hideous category unto themselves: lazy sloth dressing.

I'm all about comfort. Really I am. I sit here right now wearing jeans and a t-shirt, not some fantasy fashion garb. I've been cleaning house and taking blogging breaks. While I'm too sweaty to be considered "presentable," I do have the presence of mind to know both what I am doing (and so care about comfort and practical issues) and care about what I am wearing (out of consideration for those I live with and anyone who might ring that front door bell -- or the kids might bring over spontaneously). I am practical and respectful.

But I am neither confused nor rude.

The Pajama Jean and "junderpants" are for people who either don't know what they are doing or don't care about those people who have to look at them.

And I don't just mean the degree to which said garb might be flattering. I mean these people don't care that such garments (word used loosely) communicate a strong message of "I'd rather be in bed sleeping than spending time with you."

How rude.

Vintage New Look Nautical Dress

With New Look full skirts, you cast a wider net *wink* Not your usual navy; this vintage Bon-El beauty is black and white cotton gingham with red and cream fishy details.

Vintage White Lace Dress

At first glance, this retro white crochet lace dress looks like it has a hanky hem, but it's even more unusual than that -- look at the high-cut sides! Beautiful! This crocheted dress is completely lined too.

Oh, Sailor...

This "Gyls" dress by Diane Von Furstenberg isn't the classic nautical fashion we get pushed every summer -- even with the gold buttons and tassels. But in lipstick red it has the nawtical look any red-blooded male would drop anchor for *wink* Originally $345; now just $193.20. (Via Shop It To Me Sale Mail alert.)
